Dogs and Cats:
No food after 8 p.m. the evening before the surgery. Water is allowed. Please contact the hospital with any specific questions.
Puppies & Kittens:
For pediatric surgeries, please follow the specific advise from the veterinarian as some pets may be too young to fast an extended period.
Day of surgery:
Please bring your pet to the clinic between 8 – 9 a.m. If you are a new client, you may print our new client sheet and fill it out before coming in to save yourself a few minutes at drop off. Please allow enough time for us to check in your pet, a quick doctor’s exam and to prepare an estimate of surgical costs.
We attempt to phone our patient’s owner after the procedure is completed using the phone number provided. Because we sometimes have problems contacting the owners, please call the clinic where your pet is hospitalized if you have not received a call by 3 p.m.
Generally, patients are released between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Patients are occasionally released sooner depending on the procedure performed and the pet’s individual response to the anesthesia. In addition, occasionally our veterinarians decide to extend the hospitalization for further care by our professionals should it be necessary.
Please call before coming to pick up your pet so that we may arrange a release time that is appropriate. We are unable to release after normal business hours.
